What a tasty evening at the San Siro for hosts Milan. They retain pole position in the scudetto by besting second place Napoli 3-0. Milan goalscorers Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kevin Boateng and Alex Pato all put in good performances. Napoli even at the interval (0-0), gave up an early penalty in 4th minute of the second half. The Swede Ibrahimovic stepped up to spot and converted and the rest it seems is history as our visitors, unable to turn things in [...]

Number 10 for the match day starts with that cheeky little pass from Zlatan Ibranimovic to Pato of Milan which nutmegs the Genoa defender in the process. Milan have a fantastic array of attacking talent but a huge dearth of depth in both midfield and defence. While an injured forward simply means another world class star takes off his tracksuit and enters the fray, a knock to either Alessandro Nesta or Thiago Silva leaves most Rossoneri fans with palpitations akin to those club President’s have when discovering player has Mino Raiola is his agent. With a number of large contracts due to expire this coming summer it [...]

For the second consecutive week Milan failed to claim all three points. An absolute wonder strike by Zlatan Ibrahimovic that was deserving of a match winner was cancelled out late in the game by a Ruben Olivera equaliser. In truth, Max Allegri’s side did not deserve victory. The Rossoneri lacked imagination in the final third and only recorded three strikes on goal in the whole match. Milan dominated possession but this came as little surprise with a midfield comprised of [...]

When Milan signed Antonio Cassano his arrival was met with much scepticism. Given Cassano’s turbulent past that has seen him in trouble with managers, players and presidents alike, this scepticism was justifiable. The former Bari prodigy is an incredible talent but is also an equally volatile character. It is early days, indeed, and Cassano has only made one appearance for the Rossoneri and it was as a substitute. Nonetheless, the former Sampdoria talisman proved to be a crucial figure in [...]

It may have been a while but it finally came, a Milan performance characterised by grit and determination that almost translated into an unlikely win.  In the lead up to this match, given Milan’s recent poor form and their humiliating loss to Real Madrid two weeks ago, many pundits, including myself, wrote off Milan’s chances in this game. Yet, Milan were only one minute away from claiming a momentous victory.  Had it not been for the dagger placed into the [...]
