Serie A 2011/2012: Top Five Goals of Week 37

Juventus have been crowned as Serie A Champions after a 2-0 away win at Cagliari after Inter 4-2 win over AC Milan which included a wonderful goal by Maicon. Parma has now won six in a row and they are now level on points with Roma. Lecce and Genoa will have to fight on the last day of the season for survival in Serie A.

Here are the top five goals from week 37 in Serie A.

5. Francesco Totti Roma vs. Catania

The Roma captain rolled back the years with an impressive performance against Catania. The first of his double was a rocket of a left footed drive which flew into the bottom corner from outside of the area.

4. Giovanni Marchese Roma vs. Catania

This was the second goal for Catania. A short free kick from Francesco Lodi found Marchese on the edge of the area who smashed an effort with his left foot in to the far corner past Bogdan Lobont who never moved.

3. Antonio Di Natale Udinese vs. Genoa

This was a brilliant free kick from the Udinese Captain from the left hand side angle of the area, which was curled past Sebastian Frey who got caught out on his near post.

2. Maicon Inter vs. AC Milan

A wonderful goal and a goal any other week would have won goal of the week. It was the fourth goal for Inter, the Brazilian right back went on a marauding run and let fly from the angle of the right hand side into the top corner.

1 Sebastian Giovinco Siena vs. Parma

A Golazo by the Atomic Ant, this was Parma first goal for in their away win at Siena. From around thirty yard out Giovinco flicked the ball up and hit it and it flew into the top corner.

I have been a fan of Italian football for around 10-15 years now since the Channel four days back in the Uk with James Richardson. I am a Roma fan as well and i have been following the club since 2003 with the attack minded football with Totti and Cassano.
