Serie A Week 7 RoundUp: Champion Milan Salvage Win Scoring Thriller
After the fluke round with five 0-0 draws, this weekend action was packed with several brilliant games and high scoring. AC Milan came back from three goals down to win 4-3 at Lecce. Juventus drew 2-2 at home against Genoa in a brilliant game and Udinese end top at the weekend after a brilliant home win over Novara
Saturday October 23rd
There were two games on Saturday evening, the first of which featured Fiorentina at home to Catania which ended in a 2-2 draw. Fiorentina took the lead twice thanks to two goals from Stevan Jovetic but they were pegged back by goals from Delvecchio and a late goal from Maxi Lopez.
The second evening game was another battle royale between Juventus and Genoa which also ended in a stalemate 0f 2-2. Two goals from Alessandro Matri gave Juventus the lead twice but Genoa fought back to deny Juventus full points with huge thanks from Rossblu fans to Marco Rossi, and a brilliant goal from Andrea Caracciolo shared the spoils.
Sunday October 24th
Fast forward to lunch time Sunday and Serie A fans were given a goal-fest cracker between Lecce and AC Milan.
Lecce raced out to a three goal lead before half time thanks to goals from Giacomazzi, a penalty from Massimo Oddo and Carlos Grossmuller. But AC Milan fought back brilliantly thanks to a inspirational hat trick by Kevin-Prince Boateng. Then AC Milan got a late winner from Mario Yepes to end a fantastic game.
Cagliari and Napoli played out a 0-0 draw. Inter Milan got back to winning ways thanks to a first goal of the season from Thiago Motta who has recently returned from injury. Atalanta fine form continues as they dispatched a poor Parma side. Maxi Moralez was the star as he bagged a brace. Parma got a late consolation thanks to a strike Jamie Valdes. Roma got back to winning way after losing the derby last week thanks to a brilliant goal by Erik Lamela. A brilliant left footed curled effort gave Roma a win against a battling Palermo side that deserved a point of it. Siena got a crucial home win over a crisis hit Cesena side thanks to a 2-0 win. Pablo Gonzalez and Emmanuele Calaio got the goals for the home side. Udinese ended the week on top after a brilliant home win over Novara 3-0. Antonio Di Natale was in majestic form. He scored two of the goals and Maurizio Domizzi got the third for the Zebrette.
The Sunday night game was Lazio away trip to a struggling Bologna side. Lazio strolled to a 2-0 victory and ended the weekend 2nd in the league. A goal in each half gave Lazio the victory. A Robert Acquafresca own goal and a Senad Lulic goal early in the second half gave Lazio the three points.
A brilliant weekend of Serie A football which surprisingly there were no red Card and lots of goals. There is midweek action in Italy which starts on Tuesday and the final game will be on Thursday.
