The sight of Phillipe Mexes crying is a sight around Italy at the moment that Inter fans will be rubbing their hands with glee. Sampdoria came to the capital last night and took 3 points away thanks to striker Giampaolo Pazzini double. It all looked good for Roma when Francesco Totti gave the home side the lead after 14 minutes when Totti finished nicely from a Vucinic cross. Totti 1st goal since January. Roma were denied a penalty when a Vucinic cross was handled in the area by Zauri, Roma players were furious a clear penalty. It could of been 2-0 when Vucinic fed the ball to Totti who slammed the post. At half-time Del Neri made 2 telling substitutions taking off Poli and Guberti and replacing them with Mannini and Tissone. Sampdoria got the equaliser thank to brilliant work by former Roma man Antonio Cassano who crossed and Giampaolo Pazzini nodded home. Roma were denied another penalty claim when Pizarro shot was handled in the area. As Roma laid siege to the goal as Riise, Toni and Vucinic were denied, Sampdoria got the winner struck the winner with 5 minutes to go when Mannini cross was tapped in by Pazzini ahead of Left back Riise.

Inter retained top spot and thanks to Sampdoria win are now 2 points clear thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win over Atalanta. But it was Atalanta who took the lead when striker Simone Tiribocchi scored the opener with an emphatic finish past Julio Cesar. But Inter hit back on when who else Diego Milito equalised after a defensive error to lob into a empty net. It was 2-1 when Macdonald Mariga scored his 1st goal for the club on attacking a cross from Eto'o on which Muntari missed and Margia bundled in. The 3rd goal for Inter was out of the top draw when Cristian Chivu unleashed an effort from 25 yards which flew into the net off the inside of the post.

Oh what is happening to AC Milan now they are now going to struggle for 4th at this rate going down 3-1 away at Palermo. Cesare Bovo and Abel Hernandez gave the home side 2-0 lead after 19 minutes. Ac Milan hit back after half time when Clarence Seedorf who latched on to a Ronaldinho through ball unleashed an effort past Sirgu. But the tattooed man off Scilliy Fabrizco Miccoli netted his 20th goal of the season as he curled an brilliant effort past Dida.

Bologna fought back from a goal down at home to beat Parma 2-1 thanks to a Marco Di Vaio double. Jonathan Biabiany gave Parma the lead with a fantastic solo effort ghosting past 2 players and slotting it past the keeper. Parma were then reduced to 10 men when Christian Zaccardo was sent off for a clumsy foul on Zalayeta. But then it turned into the Di Vaio Show. Chievo took charge at Florence thanks to the home team wasting chances and then hitting them on the counter attack. Big Serge Pellisier and Gennaro Sardo with the goals for Chievo. It didn't help Fiorentina as Jose Manuel Vargas missed a penalty to rub salt into the wounds. Sergio Floccari came back to haunt his old team as he netted the winner for Lazio away at Genoa. Suprisingly all the goals came in the 1st half as Rodrigo Palacio for Genoa scoring the opener. Then Lazio hit back with goals from Andre Dias and then Sergio Floccari. He made up for missing the penalty in the Derby last week.

Juventus being Juventus got back to winning ways after the defeat at Inter with a 3-0 home win over Bari. 2 goals from Vincenzo Iaquinta and a penalty from Alex Del Piero gave Juventus 3 points closer to securing European football for next season. As Livorno are saying goodbye to Serie A they are showing pride after defeating Catania 3-1 at home. Played in pretty much a empty stadiums due to protests by the home side, Lucarelli, Bellucci and Bergvold with the goals for Livorno and Maxi Lopez with a late goal for Catania. Udinese thrashed Siena 4-1 on sunday afternoon and Siena are 1 step closer to relegation. Simone Pepe with a brace and Alexi Sanchez and Toto Di Natale with the other goals for the home side. Emanuele Calaio with the only goal for the struggling Siena. Napoli and Cagliari played out a 0-0 at the San Paolo on which Cossu was sent off for the away side.
