Well, with the very fortunate Bayern Munich waiting in the wings at the Santiago Bernabeu already, after torching a very lackluster and under-manned Lyon defense, we are all set for a welcome of epidemic proportions for Sir Bobby Robson’s former translator Jose Mourinho in Catalunya tomorrow night.
After a contested affair last week that saw Inter Milan hand Pep Guardiola his largest defeat since taking the reigns at the Camp Nou, all the talk was that Jose Mourinho had already booked his side’s progression to the final. His tactical genius was lauded, his side’s grit against the Barcelona attack was highlighted, and David had beaten the Catalan Giant. Let’s skip the fact that Inter Milan are one of the greats of world football and were strong under Mancini, and let’s not get in the way of the English media’s attempt to canonize the Portuguese used-car salesman, but as ESPN’s Lee Corso says, “Not so fast my friend.”
