Fancy a flutter on the Italian footie this weekend? Good! I co-host the Italian Football FanCast which is the finest Italian football podcast on the world wide web, allow me to give you some of my predictions for this weekend’s fixtures, perhaps you’ll make some money out of it.

Hate to be boring but I expect a home victory for the champions and current league leaders. Despite missing key man Wesley Sneijder, Inter still have a lot of firepower and a strong and organised defence. Goran Pandev has settled into life with his new team and already become a key performer. Cagliari possess Italy’s ‘number one’ coach in Massimiliano Allegri, Jose Mourinho has had a lot to say about this. With only 2 wins in their last 5 games Cagliari are certainly in for a tough afternoon.

Inter Vs Cagliari - HOME VICTORY

Napoli are flying high in Serie A, above major teams like Juventus and challenging for a place in the Champions League. The switch from Roberto Donadoni to Walter Mazzarri has been a masterstoke. On paper Udinese are a very formidable outfit but struggle to find consistency and have missed Fabio Quagliarella who will most probably line up against them. Udinese have taken 3 points from their last 5 games and I expect Napoli to take all the points back to Naples.

Udinese Vs Napoli - AWAY VICTORY

Sampdoria coach Gigi Del Neri has flexed his managerial muscles by leaving out Antonio Cassano recently, his gamble has paid off and the team have raised their game and achieved some much needed victories. Samdoria defeated Siena 4-1 earlier in the season and have a much stronger side, even without Cassano. Siena have only managed one draw in their last 5 games, their only hope is to defend as if their lives depend on it and hit Sampdoria on the break. Expect Angelo Palombo to pull the strings from midfield and expect a Sampdoria victory.

Siena Vs Sampdoria - AWAY VICTORY

There are plenty of other tasty fixtures in Serie A, one of the Europe's strongest leagues and some say the prettiest to watch. Whether your having a flutter or not, enjoy your calcio.
