8 Straight wins now for Roma but football is a cruel game and especially on Fiorentina. With 8 minutes left on the clock Mirko Vucinic snatched a late goal for Roma when he pounced on a loose ball in the area to smash past Sebastian Frey off the underside of the cross bar. Fiorentina was much of the better side all through the game and could not get past the Roma defence on which Julio Sergio, Mexes and Juan were outstanding for the Romans. So 19 games unbeaten for Claudio Ranieri Roma side is it time to take them seriously.
The team that Roma moved above in the table Ac Milan played out a dour 0-0 draw on which I had the misfortune of watching 10 minutes of the game and wish i did not. The only 2 noteable chances were both for Ac Milan when both Ronaldinho and Ambrosini hitting the crossbar. Sadly AC Milan are on the slide at the wrong time of the season. Milan city rivals Inter are now 8 points clear of Roma now after a emphatic 3-0 home win over Cagliari. Inter made easy work of their oppenents on when Pandev, Samuel and Milito with the goals for Mourinho men.
Juventus are in free-fall at the moment and a 1-1 draw at Livorno did not help. New man Alberto Zaccheroni started with his traditional 3-4-3 formation or 5-2-1-2. Livorno took the lead when Antonio Filippini nodded in unmarked. Juventus equalised before Half time when Nicola Legrottaglie headed in 6 yards out. Later on in the game Felipe Melo was sent off later in the game. Melo is not having a good season. Simone Tribocchi was the hero for Atalanta as he scored the only goal of the game against Bari 8 minutes from time. Genoa beat Chievo at the Tardini 1-0 when a Marco Rossi goal helped the home side to victory.
Oh Lazio have hit rock bottom, the loss at home to Catania has put the Rome side in the bottom 3. Maxi Lopez scored the only goal of the game on his debut for Catania. Balladini must be thinking is he still in a job. Palermo won the early game on Saturday 2-1 thanks to a late Fabio Simplicio goal. Palermo took the lead from Edison Cavani and Parma from Jonathan Biabiany. Sampdoria won their 3rd game on the spin without Peter Pan Antonio Cassano, beating Siena 2-1. Gasteldello and Pozzi with the goals for Samp and a late Maccarone goal for Siena. Antonio Di Natale was the man in Udine as he struck a hat-trick against Napoli. Christian Maggio who scored for Napoli was then later sent off.
