Del Piero Is Juventus Fall Guy

Posted by Scot Munroe Monday, February 15, 2021

Juventus gained a much needed win on Sunday afternoon with a dogged performance over Genoa. 3-2 the scoreline and had to thank Alex Del Piero for this. Genoa took the lead early in the game as Marco Rossi scuffed an effort passed the keeper. As half-time was approaching Juventus huffed and puffed and was gladly rewarded as Amauri hit back at his critics rising up above the Genoa defence from Caceres cross. Juve took the lead in the 2nd half when neat build up play from Diego back-heeled pass to Del Piero who slotted past Ameila, to delight the fans and his wife n the crowd. Sadly the lead only lasted 2 minutes as a Gigi Buffon error(not said often) gifted Marco Rossi his 2nd goal of the game. Juventus grabbed the winner in controversy.

13 minutes from time as Del Piero was through on goal he looked like he was tripped by Genoa defender Papasthathopoulos but on replays were inconclusive. Del Piero then tucked the penalty passed Amelia and grabbed 3 points for the Old Lady.

Klass Jan Huntelaar was the man for Milan as he netted twice and Alexandre Pato scored in his 1st game back after 2 months out injured. Udinese reply were from talisman Antonio Di Natale and Antonio Floro Flores. A nervous victory for Milan as they play hosts to Manchester United on Tuesday. The Other Italian team who play a English team in the Champions League are Inter Milan, who travelled to Naples on Sunday night and picked up a crucial point. In a game that on paper screamed out goals, it really did not turn that away with both teams hitting the woodwork.
