Hot off the press Roma's Cicinho is Sao Paulo bound.
The Brazilian side Sao Paulo confirmed a loan deal for the full-back and Cicinho's immediate response was, “I am living a dream! I’m going home.”
This is no ordinary return to the homeland as the player has previously dressed for his new club back in 2003 to 2005 before his move to Real Madrid.
“I have just left a meeting with Roma to discuss my contract. I’m living a dream! I will return to Sao Paulo, I’m going home,” said Cicinho.
“I can’t wait to get on that plane. Admittedly I’m not 100 per cent fit, but I will do everything I can for this side and have so much enthusiasm. “I couldn’t be fit considering I’ve played two consecutive games in a month, one of which was for 80 minutes and the other 50 seconds. “I’m happy that everything has been sorted out for the best. Roma are a great club and that is why they worked to help me.”
It was expected the Brazilian would leave during the January transfer window as he has never quite settled at Roma. The loan however was rushed through now rather than waiting any further as today is the deadline for the Copa Libertadores.
Sao Paulo confirmed the deal is a loan until June 30, which could be extended if the team go all the way in the Copa.
