Milan Derby: Return Of The Champions Milan 0-4 Inter

Posted by Kevin Walker Sunday, August 30, 2021

Oh my oh my the champions Inter are playing like champions.

After drawing on opening day to newly promoted Bari, the Nerazzurri crank out a stunning 4 goal performance against city rivals Milan, with Julio Cesar claiming a clean sheet, as AC Milan are incapable of putting anything past the Inter keeper. Gennaro Gattuso was sent off 5 minutes before the half for a foul on Samuel Eto'o leading to a second Inter goal by import and new boy Diego Milito from the penalty spot. The new faces of Motta, Eto'o, Milito, and Sneijder all played their part in this mauling of Milan.

I am left wondering, who is truly black and blue from this encounter?

Chris Nee from twofootedtackle had this to say, "on the stroke of half time, it really was game over. Inter were irresistable up the right wing and Milito played a lovely one-two to provide Douglas Maicon with a simple but exhilarating finish to put the match to bed before the break."

Inter President Massimo Moratti after the match, “It was such a great game! It was a battle in the first 20 minutes, then we dominated thanks to a fantastic style of football."

When asked on newly arrived Wesley Sneijder Moratti said, “It is incredible how he immediately settled into the squad and showed such character in a very important game.”
