Kaka decision set for Monday
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi expects a final decision on the future of Kaka to be made on Monday. Real Madrid, whose new president Florentino Perez is a long-time admirer of the 27-year-old Brazilian playmaker and Chelsea, who have just appointed his former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, have been linked in the media with the 2007 world player of the year.
Real have reportedly offered US$103m (€65m) for Kaka and a five-year deal with an annual salary of US$15m (€9.5m). Chelsea, meanwhile, denied that they had bid for Kaka, who turned down a world-record US$160m (€100m) offer from Manchester City in January. Selling Kaka would make economic sense for Milan but no other top player will be allowed to leave, chief executive Adriano Galliani has said.
