Juventus Talk: International Break But Its Brazil

The international break is upon us and many Juventini are away on international duty. While Juventus will not be in action this weekend, there is always plenty to talk about.

Italy and Brazil as well as Pogba
The two most storied footballing countries in the world will faced off  yesterday. Prandelli has typically used friendlies as an excuse to try as many players as possible, but Andrea Pirlo promises that Italy will take this friendly seriously. The match was once again historic ending all even 2-2. Italy continue to struggle against South American sides having to come back from two goals down. Speaking of Pirlo, and his Juventus teammates, as expected the majority of starters was composed of Juventus players. Gigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Pirlo played their part to start. Chiellini did not play, as an injured ankle will keep him out of both international matches in the upcoming week.

Over in France, the young phenomenon Paul Pogba earned a call up to the senior squad for their upcoming matches. In a press conference, it was clear that the recently turned 20 year-old was delighted to play for his country. He also discussed how his time at Juve has been great and it surely helped him grab the attention of former Juventino and current coach of the France team, Didier Deschamps.

Injury concerns
It was only a month ago when Chiellini had returned from his latest injury stint and the news of his ankle bothering him is a point of concern for Juventini. Considered one of the best at his position, his return not only made the defense more reliable but also added more energy and an aerial threat on corner kicks. If his injury proves to be longer than the international break, it could be concerning.
One player who played well while filling in for Chiellini was Martin Caceres, but this time he would be unavailable as a replacement, at least for 15 days. The Uruguayan was in a fairly sizeable car crash and was taken to the hospital. He is expected to make a recovery but he will definitely be unavailable for the upcoming match against Inter on March, 30.

Munich it is!
The Champions League quarterfinals have been set and Juventus will first travel to Germany before welcoming the Bundesliga table toppers to Torino. Many consider Bayern to have been the most impressive side in the Champions League thus far, but Juventus have also been strong and match up very well against the Germans. Neither side are taking it lightly and the talk leading up to the match has been nothing but respectful. Expect both legs to be extremely well contested and pay close attention to the battle between the big, strong attack of Munich and the equally big and strong defense of Juventus. This will be the best matchup of the quarterfinals.

More to come on the success of the Azzurri and additional thoughts on the 2-2 outcome here at SerieAWeekly, with goalscorers Daniele De Rossi and Mario Balotelli striking back for the equalizer.
