Lecce managed the shock of the round by stunning Inter Milan 1-0, the defeat bringing to an end the Nerazzurri’s six-game winning. Juventus kept their undefeated record intact by defeating highflying Udinese by two goals to nil in very wet conditions in Turin on Saturday. Alessandro Matri was the hero on the night as he claimed both strikes. The flabby bull has finally, if only by the smallest of margins, been squeezed from the summit of Serie B. After a run of 114 days as league leaders, Torino’s second 1-1 draw with Cittadella was enough to see Sassuolo claim top spot on goal-difference and il Toro pushed back into the pack.  It’s taken brilliant consistency from the Neroverde and Verona and another blast of victories from Pescara to erode Torino’s advantage, but deservedly, as Giampiero Ventura’s side no [...]

The undoubted star man for Prandelli’s new look Azzurri was Milan’s Antonio Cassano. A player who came to prominence at [...]

Midfield Hernanes The Brazilian playmaker was undoubtedly Lazio’s best signing of last season. He has continued his excellent form into the new season, operating in the heart of Lazio’s midfield and supplying new-boy Miroslav Klose with the service that has helped him notch up 9 goals so far. If Lazio are to pursue success in the Europa League along with their ambitions to claim a Champions League spot then Hernanes will have to improve further still despite his already impressive [...]

After weeks of rumours and hand-wringing negotiations, Martin Caceres finally returns to Juventus from Sevilla  on loan for the rest of the season. Juventus will initially pay €1.5 million and an additional €8 million in the summer to make the move permanent. His high-pressing, possession tactics have done wonders for the club so far. Even former Juventus manager [...]
