Serie A Week 13 Preview: Inter Milan vs. Udinese

Saturday night at the San Siro this weekend we will see Inter Milan take on Udinese hoping for their third successive win.

Under Claudio Ranieri Inter form has been inconsistent at best; in the league they have stuttered and are sitting 15th. But in the Champions League Inter Milan have qualified for the latter stages of the competition.

Wins over Cagliari and away at Siena paper over the cracks of a woeful start to the season. Going into this home game Inter miss a handful of key players which include Lucio, Maicon, Diego Forlan and Wesley Sneijder.

On the other side of the pitch Udinese are flying this season and clearly do not miss their former assets of Alexis Sanchez and Gokhan Inler, both departed for greener ($$$) pastures in the summer.

In the domestic league the zebrette have been a team to watch but boss Francesco Guidolin has rested his best players in the Europa League, with the exception midweek away in France to Rennes. The manager put out his nearest starting XI. With the squad possible lack peek fitness, only three days has passed since the last contest, this game Inter Milan could be a very tough test indeed.

Last week win at home to Roma was a brilliant victory as they hit the visitors twice on the counter attack with two sucker punches in the last ten minutes. Going into the game Udinese are missing not as many players as Inter but they are crucial players with both Maurizio Domizzi and Andrea Coda unavailble due to injury.

Prediction

As Inter Milan have been picking up form recently but they are missing out the spine of the team in Maicon, Lucio and Wesley Sneijder all missing due to Injury. The way Udinese play with the wide players and playing on the counter attack I can see Udinese picking up a result. Inter Milan 1-2 Udinese.

Probable Starting XI
Inter Milan 4-3-1-2
Julio Cesar, Zanetti, Samuel, Ranocchia, Nagatomo, Cambiasso, Motta, Stankovic, Alvarez, Pazzini, Castaignos.

Udinese 3-5-1-1
Handanovic, Ferronetti, Benatia, Danilo, Isla, Basta, Pinzi, Asamoah, Armero, Di Natale, Floro Flores.

A Football fan for around 18 years since the age of 6 years old. My first love is Swindon town now managed by the mad man that is Paolo Di Canio. I have been a fan of Italian football for around 10-15 years now since the Channel four days back in the Uk with James Richardson. I am a Roma fan as well and i have been following the club since 2003 with the attack minded football with Totti and Cassano.
