Serie A Week 36: Team Of The Week
Scot Munroe is taking a look at the team of the week for week 36. Formation 3-4-3
Goalkeeper: Samir Handanovic (Udinese)
A massive performance from a big time player for Udinese, Handanovic pulled of two big saves. One he denied an awful penalty from Zarate. His second was a brilliant save to deny Andre Dias from close range when the game was in the balance
Centre back: Juan (Roma)
One of his best performances from the Brazilian defender this season, man marked Ibrahimovic out of the game. He was impeccable at the back with Burdisso.
Centre back: Matias Silvestre (Catania)
The Argentine defender played a commanding role at the heart of the Catania back line. He foiled any attack that Brescia could attempt and he also helped at the other end and managed to get on the score sheet with a nice volley.
Centre back: Thiago Silva (Milan)
Another top class performance by the monster Brazilian centre back. Another clean sheet was racked up and this helped Milan clinch the title. The Roma front line was clueless up front and Silva mopped up anything that went his way
Right Midfield: Luis Jimenez (Cesena)
Was a creative spark for the relegation contenders in their key game against Cagliari. The former Inter midfielder but in a stellar performance and scored a cracking goal which helped Cesena pick up massive points.
Centre Midfield: Esteban Cambiasso (Inter)
The tenacious midfielder was back to his best, a lot of hard work and guile and he tormented Montolivo. He helped out at the back and up front. Scored a crucial goal which helped Inter double their lead.
Centre Midfield: Guillermo Giacomazzi (Lecce)
The Uruguayan veteran bossed the midfield in this crucial game for Lecce which dented Sampdoria Serie A hopes. Giacomazzi made mince meat of Dossena which led him to be subbed off. A real heart in the midfield.
Left Midfield: Maurico Isla (Udinese)
The Chilean was a real threat down the Udinese right hand side. He gave Javier Garrido some almighty trouble, Isla managed to set up for Di Natale for his second strike of the game.
Right forward: Alexis Sanchez (Udinsese)
Has been a bit quiet recently due to poor form and injury, but this week game against Lazio he was sublime. He linked brilliantly with his deadly strike partner Di Natale. He set up Di Natale for the first goal and played an integral part for the second.
Left Forward: Antonio Di Natale (Udinese)
What can I say about this striker, at the age of thirty-three he proves unstoppable at the moment. He scored a brace against Lazio which takes his tally to 28 this season. The highest in Serie A and could take Udinese to the Champions league.
Striker: Mauro Boselli (Genoa)
The on loan striker has only been at the club since January, but he has played himself into Genoa folk law. He came on in the last ten minutes of the game in the derby. In the ninety-sixth minute of the game he brilliantly turned Lucchini to curl a fantastic effort past Da Costa.
