Serie A Matchday 33: Team Of The Week
Scot is taking a look at the team of the week for week 33. Formation is 4-2-3-1
Goalkeeper: Francesco Antonioli (Cesena)
The veteran former Roma goalkeeper was in brilliant form for Cesena against Bari and he produced some brilliant saves to deny the relegated doomed side.
Right back: Gennaro Sardo (Chievo)
The Chievo right back was in blistering form and was a constant threat down the right hand side. He was rampaging up and down the flank. He deserved a goal but was denied by the cross bar.
Centre back: Cristian Zapata (Udinese)
The Colombian international was an absolute monster at the back and nullified any of the Napoli attack. His solid tackling and the clever positioning in the 3 man back line was a joy to see.
Centre back: Alessandro Lucarelli (Parma)
The veteran defender was in inspiring form at the back. He almost scored with a brilliant acrobatic over head kick. Also Lucarelli led the defensive line brilliantly and blunted the inter attack.
Left back: Kakhaber Kaladze (Genoa)
The veteran Genoa defender shook off the nervy first few minutes in the game to guide his side to a much needed 3 points. He showed his class and experience at the back to block out any attack from Brescia.
Centre Midfield: Gokhan Inler (Udinese)
A fantastic performance at the heart of the midfield, done a job in joining up in attack and helping out in defence. He scored a brilliant effort from distance but his unwilling not to celebrate proves he could be on the move to Napoli?
Centre Midfield: Clarence Seedorf (AC Milan)
The Dutch maestro has been rolling back the years in the Milan midfield recently. He scored a fantastic goal with the opener for Milan with a well taken free kick and Seedorf bossed the midfield throughout the game.
Right midfield: Abel Hernandez (Palermo)
The young striker dented Roma Champions league chances with a lethal performance in front of goal with two deadly finishes right at the end of the game. The first goal was a simple tap in, but his second was well taken driven finish.
Left Midfield: Mauro Zarate (Lazio)
The Argentine was dropped to the bench for poor time keeping. Came on for Sculli due to injury and took the match by the scruff of the neck. Claimed 2 assist and scored himself in an emphatic 4-1 away win.
Attacking midfield: Antonio Cassano (AC Milan)
Celebrated the birth of his newly born son, with a brilliant performance and against his former team. He came on for the injured Pato, he contributed with the penalty and also created the assist for Robinho
Striker: Maurico Pinilla (Palermo)
The Chilean striker was in brilliant form leading the line against Roma. He earned the penalty and slotted it away and also set up both goals for Hernandez to score with perfect through balls.
