Serie A Week 20 Team of the Week

Scot takes a look at the team of the week for week 20

4-4-2 formation

Goalkeeper:  Francesco Antonioli (Cesena)

The veteran keeper was on top form to deny the Roma attack, aged 41 he made some very crucial saves to deny De Rossi, Totti, Vucinic, Menez and Adriano.

Rightback: Maicon (Inter)

The Brazilian right back is now looking like his old self now a days, his performance against Bologna down the right was superb. He linked well down the right with veteran Zanetti

Central Defender: Paolo Cannavaro (Napoli)

The Napoli captain put in a stellar performance at the heart of the Naples back-line. he put himself about for the cause which caused himself to be taken off after an hour.

Central Defender: Davide Astori (Cagliari)

Once again the young Italian put in a brilliant performance at the back for Cagliari. He now should be in the back line for the national side with performances like this. He blunted any attack that Palermo could do on the Cagliari goal

Leftback: Pablo Armero (Udinese)

A dominating performance by the Colombian, who was a threat on the left hand side for Udinese. Managed to get on the score sheet after a counter attack and he also set up German Denis

Right Midfield: Ruben Olivera (Lecce)

The Uruguayan play-maker capped off a good performance against AC Milan with a late equaliser. The former Juventus midfield covered every blade of grass and was a good source for Lecce attack,.

Central Midfield: Alexis Sanchez (Udinese)

Once again the tricky Chilian winger was one of Udinese star man. Maybe he should of got a hat-trick but he tricky and brilliant wing play helped on the counter attack. He did manage to get himself on the score sheet.

Central Midfield: Javier Zanetti (Inter)

This guy is an Inter legend equalled an Inter record for 519 Serie A appearances. He was absolutely superb in his performance against Bologna linking up well with Maicon on the right hand side.

Left Midfield: Jeremy Menez (Roma)

The French winger was a constant threat in attack for Roma and linked well with Totti and Vucnic. Was unlucky not to score on a few occasions as he was brilliantly denied by Antonioli in goal.

Striker: Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus)

The Juventus front man led the line brilliantly and caused the Bari goalkeeper Gillet some problems. He did manage to get himself on the scoresheet with a wonderfully curled free kick. Back to the vintage ADP!

Striker: Samuel Eto’o (Inter)

The Cameroon frontman was in exceptional form, linking up well with his strike partner Diego Milito and bagging himself a brace as well. He also was the heart of the Inter attack and managed to grab an assist for Danko Stankovic.

Scot Munroe

A Football fan for around 18 years since the age of 6 years old. My first love is Swindon town now managed by the mad man that is Paolo Di Canio. I have been a fan of Italian football for around 10-15 years now since the Channel four days back in the Uk with James Richardson. I am a Roma fan as well and i have been following the club since 2003 with the attack minded football with Totti and Cassano.
