Serie A Week 18 Team of the Week
I am taking a look at the team of the week for week 18
Formation 3-4-3
Goalkeeper
Fernando Muslera (Lazio)
The Uruguayan goalkeeper was in fine form against Genoa and pulled off some top notch saves to deny Luca Toni, Bosko Jankovic and Marco Rossi. He is showing his potential at the moment with Lazio
Defence
Francesco Pisano (Cagliari)
The former u21 Italian international put in an accomplished performance against the glamour of the Milan forwards. Pisano did put in a brilliant block on Alexandre Pato when he looked like scoring.
Cristian Zapata (Udinese)
The Colombian international was in inspirational form against the tricky Chievo attack and on the pitch he is the eyes and the voice of the Udinese back line.
Davide Astori (Cagliari)
Along with Pisano, Astori had a brilliant game against the stars of Ac Milan. Astori was never fussed and made a brilliant goal line clearance to deny Robinho and completely outmarked Alexandre Pato on his return.
Midfield
Alexi Sanchez (Udinese)
Again and again Sanchez is dazzling in Serie A this season and he was in fantastic form against Chievo. He tested the keeper Sorrentino a few times and bagged himself and wonderful volleyed goal.
Thiago Motta (Inter)
It was a joy to watch Motta play on Thursday night a fluid performance from the Brazilian. He gave a man of the match performance in the Inter midfield bagging him a brace. He was a constant threat all game.
Antonio Candreva (Parma)
One of a few former Juventus players who tormented their former club, Candreva was intelligent in his play playing as the Trequartista. Set up a goal and was unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.
Sebastian Giovinco (Parma)
Formica Atomica was in fine form against his parent club. Giovinco showed a class act on the pitch and scored 2 goals and respected the fans by not celebrating
Forwards
Mirko Vucinic (Roma)
He came on to the pitch with 10 minutes to go and completely turned the game. He scored 2 goals in the last 4 minutes and he was in the right place in the right time to give Roma the victory.
Marco Borriello (Roma)
One of the signings of the season so far he worried the Catania defence with his presence and like Vucinic he was in the right place in the right time to score twice.
Stefano Okaka (Bari)
A fantastic winter signing who has been kicking his heels at Roma, the loan signing made a massive impact in the Puglia derby against Lecce by netting the winner late on in the game
