FootballBlips: vote it up!

author John Foot on ForzaFutbol InterviewsThe following interview with author John Foot was from a year ago and after listening to it several times and really enjoying the dialogue, I thought it a good idea to do a focus piece for others searching the web for interesting podcasts to download to their ipod or mp3 player on the sport of football.

Mando from Forza Futbol does a great job in interviewing John Foot and in letting the historian run with the ball (no pun) Foot's observation and analysis of the game in Italy and the impact it has had on politics, economics and general rivialries across the nation is eye opening stuff.

John Foot, author of Calcio: A History of Italian Football, published in the United States as Winning at All Costs, is a comprehensive history of Italian football from its origins as an English import, and re-branding with imagined Calcio Fiorentino (an ancient Italian foot game), to the final moments of the Calciopoli scandal.
